Event Report

The reigning champions, #66 Force Phantom retained their 2017 drivers in Simon Ham and Nic Lane. The team started off their title defence in the best possible way, beating their fierce rivals #95 CNH Warspeed to the overall round win.

The #66 machine showed enviable pace all weekend, taking pole position, two fastest laps and wins in Races 2 and 3.  Their only blemish was being pipped to the Race 1 win by a determined #95 team.

Father and son team Craig Nissen and Hayden Nissen of #95 CNH Warspeed started Round 1 as one of the favourites.  Their early weekend form put credence to this notion.

In the end they were overhauled by their traditional rivals in the #66 Force Phantom machine, however their performance will give them early confidence of factoring in the overall title race.

#12 JLA Racing had a mixed bag weekend, suffering issues in race one and taking a below par tenth, but rallying to return to the front taking fourth in both Races 2 and 3.

Early pace from the #12 machine indicates that yet again this team should be challenging for the podium at most events.

#10 Team Frog Racing's Zac Walvin, Brock Lannoy and Alan Bilsborough fired shots of intent across the bow of their competitors early in thr weekend, taking fastest lap and third in Race 1.  They were also sitting in a podium position in Race 2, only to be handed two penalties which dropped them to 12th.

Keen to redeem themselves in Race 3, the Frogs placed themselves into an unassailable 5th place.

SEKQLD's first rookie team for 2018 was #37 Apex Autosport, with the team putting in an admirable performance on debut.

After mechanical difficulties in race one, the squad rallied to back to back sixth places in Races 2 and 3, marking them as a team to watch in 2018.
