2017 AGM to be held in Warwick on 25 March - NOMATIONS OPEN
The SEKQLD 2017 AGM has been set for the 25th of March to be held at the Warwick Kart Club facility. Food Shack proprietor Steve Lamb ihas indicated that meals will be available on the evening of the AGM.
This year's AGM is a particularly imporant one not only for voting on the coming year's committee positions, but also a doscussion on the future of the club's operating classes and updates from Karting Australia. An information update on the latest news from Karting Australia will be released prior to the AGM.
All members attending will be required to sign in as the votes taken at this even will be binding.
A final agenda for the AGM will be set following a final committee meeting to be held in Mid-March. SEKQLD Welcome submissions from members for discussion - See the new SUBMIT AN AGENDA ITEM button below. A news post will be added to this section once the agenda is announced.

Note - nominees for the Executive Committee must live within the state of Queensland or within 50km of the Queensland state border to be considered. This is a necessary requirement under the Incorporated Associations Act (Qld).
For any members wanting to nominate for a position on the committee please fill out the form below by no later than 5PM March 25 2017. A form must be completed for a nomination to be considered with all mandatory fields completed.

SEKQLD August Committee Meeting Minutes posted
SEKQLD had their fourth committee meeting for the year on the 16th of August where a number of key decisions regarding the 2017 Calendar were made. This includes confirmation of the long-rumoured joint SEKQLD/SEKNSW round and a provisional 2017 calendar.

2016-2017 SEKQLD Committee announced in Warwick
SEKQLD held it's Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Warwick on Saturday the 23rd of April, where the most important order of business was voting for the Club's 2016-2017 representatives.

SEKQLD 2016 kicks off in style with official test
The SEKQLD 2016 Season is now officially underway, with the SEKQLD Official Test Day being held at the weekend in Warwick. With sixteen karts on show, and over forty people in attendance, the result was an engaging day of on-track action, as teams tried to find every advantage ahead of the series' first round in March.
The event, an annual fixture of the SEKQLD Season, was an opportunity for endurance karting teams new and old to test their equipment ahead of what is sure to be a gruelling Endurance Karting Season. And in first for the club, SEKQLD opened the invitation to the Lakeside Kart Club for their competitors to come out and meet their fellow four-strok kartes and share in the fun.
Previous iterations of the event had seen a non-championship 3 hour race being run, however the 2016 edition was geared more towards acquainting new teams and drivers with the sport, and featured series officials on hand to give assistance and advice to newcomers.
This didn't mean, however, that the competitve urges veteran racers in the series so often show weren't out in force. indeed the field staged a number of mock battles throughout the course of the day, racing with such intensity that the uninitiated onlooker might have mistook the event for a real race.
Despite a torential downpour cutting proceedings short with an hour to go, the even is being hailed as a success by the SEKQLD committee.

Karting Australia calendar changes sees Rocky round switched
The Round 6 of the SEKQLD season, scheduled to be held in Rockhmampton on the October Long Weekend has now been cancelled due to an unavoidable clash brought on by Karting Australia's much-delayed release of the final competition calendar.
A replacement round has now been scheduled for the 15th of October at the Cooloola Coast Kart Club in Gympie. THis event, although unconfirmed, is likely to be a 7 hour race.
The Rockhampton track was a much-loved fixture of the SEKQLD calendar over the previous two years. There are plans to ensure that the round makes a return in 2017.
